For those interested in the club dive at Treasure Island (Laguna)we will meet at 0700 at The Scuba Center on Saturday morning, Oct 18. Directions to the dive site will be distributed when we meet at the shop on Saturday morning. Treasure Island is about 45 minutes north of the shop. Hunting is permitted and it is a popular dive spot for scuba divers and free divers alike. Bring 2 tanks as we plan on doing 2 shore dives.

Hey every body... can't wait for the dive at Treasure Island coming up on the 18th. Hope most of you can make it. We got a cool guest speaker coming up to the next dive club meeting and she is pretty entused about it as well. Has anyone had any good luck "bug" diving lately???

Adrian, Uncle Eric, Keith and I tried out a new dive spot(new for us) on Labor Day. We dove at a beach called Treasure Island in Laguna Beach. We saw plenty of large bass, garibaldi, blacksmith and lots of rock scallops. There were a fair number of free divers spear fishing on the reefs. Adrian said had a close encounter with a very large octopus, we never saw it and that may just be the fisherman in him telling the story. Visibilty was 10-12 feet with a slight surge. It may not sound like ideal conditions but we have had worse conditions on previous shore dives this summer. There is a very nice grassy park above the beach and we all thought this would make for a great club dive. The only negative to this site is lack of parking but that is pretty much standard for SoCal beaches. I think with a bit of planning we could pull off a great club outing. This spot is definitely on our list for a return visit.

suggestion: Link from the left side of the home page: Aquamarines does not tell new people much, but "news letter" does make things more clear. Again, if your not using the calendar, I would loose the calendar.

Also, include a site map index page alson on the left side of your page, for web browsers that are slow or do not support your large files sizes. Can't see some stuff from war in Iraq domains. ==================================================== Newsletters(http://www.escubacenter.com/newsletters.html) Then have the following links: 2007 Aquamarines Newsletter, link JAN.pdf, link trip photos.jpg, link FEB, "" MAR, "" """" """" 2008 Aquamarines Newsletter, link JAN.pdf, link trip photos.jpg, link FEB, "" MAR, "" """" """" ============================================

Do you have anything for wounded warriors? diving for disabled persons. Diving is a peaceful sport and I think with some assistance and training, many of these guys would benifit from this experience.

I see information and links to travel info, but not much info. When I click on the calendar, I get a blank calendar. Could you post a links that share some from past trips and future expectations for trips, please?

Anything planned for the Gulf of Mexico?

I get the news letters, thank you. If this is as simple as linking to the news letters, then may I suggest taking down the calendar and just linking to the news letters from the events links. I have not dove with your center since Simon owned the location and the shop was on the other side of the pool, but I am considering it.

I hate to be “a rock in the dive boot.”

Short story: I once walked 7 miles back to Foster with a piece of Okinawa corral in my dive boot as punishment for not checking the spare tire before the dive. We were stuck at the toilet bowl after getting a flat and everyone was made at me because we go the flat and no spare, so when I complained about stopping the forced march to remove the rock, they said NO, Hell NO. No one ever complained that I had the best two hoopdy dive vans, no one peeped, until the van failed them, I failed them. I mean, after over a hundred logged dives that year 97-98, No respect. Perhaps this is because one time we walked out a good 1000 yards to a low tide reef edge and I forgot to bring my weight, what a looser. No big deal; I just took off my suit. It was hot, water was warm and I was not going back with all that gear on over the treacherous corral and sea-urchins having not dove yet.

Do you have any pics or perhaps video of anyone getting sick on any of your dive trips? If so, I would like to see them posted.

Ray,

I would like to arrange for some private lessons with either you or PJ...or both! I'm terribly afraid of the water (I don't even much care for taking baths or showers) but I think I would look really HOT in one of those dive suit thingys. I'll probably need help getting in - and out - of it, too.

Call me...you have my number!

I got out of the Marine Corps February 2006, but I'm wondering if I am still able to go on the trips with you. I have been certified for about 10 or 11 years but have only been on 3 big dives. I am dying to get back into it, but I need experienced divers to go with. Am I still allowed to dive with you even though I'm not active duty anymore?
